Kitchen Garden Design
The thought of creating a kitchen garden may sound rather daunting at first but with some thought and using tried and tested design and planting you will see results in no time at all!
I use the term “kitchen garden” loosely to describe a garden that has been designed to have an eating area, cooking area and vegetable growing area in it. Although you do not need to have all three of these elements in your own design.
The soil, planting and hard landscaping are really important in this type of garden. Essentially you want a garden that looks beautiful with flowers and the usual perennial plants in but these need to be combined with edibles and still look gorgeous.
I am only able to provide this service in and around East Yorkshire.
- Drawn plan of the garden design to show you exactly what to expect
- Planting lists and clear details of where to plant in your new kitchen garden
- Cost estimates for the various aspects of the design including cooking facilities and dining
- I can source the plants and help speak to landscapers* to action the build
- I can provide a fixed-fee cost for the full design and some time on site if contractors are required
- I can plant and do the gardening work on the design charged extra at an hourly rate
- I can teach you about crop rotation for your vegetable planting
* For clarification – I provide only the design, planting list and general information you will require. To get the garden built you will need landscapers, electricians etc for some work. For an hourly rate I can be on-site to help and and also if you prefer I can do the soft landscaping aspects and some of the more straightforward hard landscaping. I can also offer project management services to some designs where I can take care of organising the whole build.
